LIFE IP Urban Klima 2050 project participates in a regional Triple-C event

The LIFE IP Urban Klima 2050 project has participated in the regional event for technical audiences: ‘Successful actions in the management of climate-related risks’ organised by Neiker and framed in the Triple-C project. It took place on 1 December in Arkaute (Álava), where the heads of several climate change adaptation projects from Spain, France, Portugal, Ireland and England shared the actions carried out in different areas.

Iñigo Urrutikoetxea Álvarez, member of the Urban Klima 2050 coordinating team, participated in the event with the intervention ‘Implementation of the Climate Change Strategy of the Basque Country – KLIMA 2050’. In it, he reviewed the main lines of action of the Basque Country’s largest climate action project for the coming years, “a long road to improve climate governance at various levels through collaborative projects”, he stressed.

He summarised the actions being carried out in the Basque Country in urban and peri-urban areas, in river basins and in the coastal area, as well as highlighting the work being done in the field of analysis, empowerment and management in relation to climate change. In this sense, Urrutikoetxea highlighted the “importance of co-responsibility and the advantages and opportunities of implementing a shared project”.
